... Mass was quite the experience and we were so glad to be a part of it. We then changed clothes and walked over to a chair lift to ride to the top of a small mountain, Mason braved the lone ride to the top, which was great because we would have missed out on so much fun if someone hadn't rode alone! Thank goodness for last March's ski lessons!! It was instant smiles at the top!! There were slides, a zip line, playscapes and animals!! The kids fed the goats almost ...

Today was quite a day! We struggled getting Madelyn and Mason to bed last night (not until midnight!), so woke up groggy, stiff from the hard mattress and with a scratchy throat (me). The church bell tower not only rang out the time, but also the hymn of "Immaculate Mary"; a nice way to wake up. He once again raised the issue that these people feel like Southern Austrians rather than Italians. We made the station ...

We awoke to a total cloud whiteout which cleared from the top down to reveal the Dolomites and then the city below. I think it is safe to say we now appreciate the positioning of these strongholds - being high on a hill. After breakfast we set off for a walk to a swimming lake, stroll along the lake and return. Of course that is not what happened. Just as well we are travelling free and easy with the attitude that all experiences are different and good this holidays we have very ...

... features, such as the keep and the towers, and the Renaissance residential quarters. A very unusual historical and architectural highlight is the huge octagonal pillar supporting the vaulted ceiling of the entrance hall. Other interesting features include, the so-called Prigione della goccia (Prison of the Drop), the Camera del camino (the Fireplace Room), which is notorious - popular legends have it that the ghost of a mysterious ...
