We stopped at the port of Corfu. The only way to really get around the island is to take an excursion. At least it was for us. We were going to see a Monastery in the village of Palaiokastritsa and to the village of Gastouri to visit the 19th century Achilleion Palace.
The places were very beautiful and again the excursions didn't disappoint ...

June 23, 5:31 AM -- Igoumenitsa, Greece The ferry, naturally, became a little less charming when everyone else had boarded. I stayed outside during embarkation, but retreated in once it got too cold (I didn't pack any long pants). Went to the dining area and ordered two portions of salmon and a ham+egg salad. Decent but nothing to write in a journal about. My ticket is for "deck space" which means you find whatever space you can in a public area and camp there. I found an open ...

... it's nice to mix it up occasionally. By the time we left at 11, the rest of Corfu had decided it was time for dinner. Not sure I could be a chef here, you'd never sleep. Not at night anyway.
It's our last day in corfu tomorrow.

Gun shot update : No sounds coming from dowstairs apartment anymore. Still silent. Been asking my myself, who really is Kaizer Soze ? Oops. I meant Michael Kaiser. Must be getting tired.

... you could possibly want on premise, even free breakfast and dinner. She tried to get me to upgrade my room but I wasn't interested. She pushed a bit more before finally upgrading me for free since the place was kind of empty so they were trying to keep all the guests together. The check-in ended with us doing a shot of ouzo. Considering the fact she checks in dozens of guests a day I can't fathom how she drinks so ...

    DAY 13 – CORFU

Well what a heap of fun today turned out to be! We booked an excursion called ‘Kickin Corfu’ where we hired a 4 wheel drive vehicle and went in convoy along the main coastal route and up to Pantokrator Mountain. Our guide spoke excellent English, but she didn’t check any international driver’s licences, or give us any tips on driving in Greek traffic! It was quite hilarious – Rex nearly drove into the jeep in front of him before we’d even ...
