... side of a cliff. It was about another hour drive away, but the drive was exciting. We saw loads of guanacos and rheas from the bus amd the driver was nice enough to stop for us to take some pictures. It seemed like there must have been asians on the bus because they wanted to stop everytime we saw anything! We even stopped for sheep! When we arrived at the colony, I was blown away by the size of these penguins (and also by the patagonian wind, i guess this is what the "W" trek ...

  • Not much to see in Puerto Madryn. It's quite a new town, the attraction is the beach. Miles and miles of golden sand, however, even though it's Summer the beach is empty. Reminds me of Cadiz. We met this crazy stray dog that nibbled and drooled all over everyone, we named him Chancho. We just chilled on the beach and watched these guys setting ...

... away from the dock and head out to sea. The captain apologizes profusely for the difficult stop and the inconvenience (The card scanners at the gangway chose this moment to fail). Obviously, some idiot has raised a ruckus about standing in line and then not being allowed ashore. The officers can’t win. In all seriousness, we all were prepared to stay aboard. As disappointed as we are, the majority of people understand the decision. So why ...

    A Penguin's World

... Again, in case you missed it: one million penguins.
They roam quietly lounging with their step that causes smiles and a few laughs, completely disregarding the tourists. Maybe they are making comments about us: if they had a camera they would probably take photos of us too. For the most part they stand completely still, and they look like statues or garden gnomes, some of them are returning from sea with the catch of the day to their burrows that dot the ...
