The weather here is beautiful. When I mentioned to people in the south of Italy that I was moving up here, they told me the winters get freezing and I was a little worried. Turns out freezing is -10 at the most! I laughed at that one. They should come visit Alberta in February.

Departed Dublin around 07:30, first stop Italy for the wedding. Arrived in Malcesine for lunch. Checked into hotel Alpino, a great little spot, right in the centre of the town, chilled for a while then caught up with friends who were already settled in.

... watching a press conference with Meyer before their SEC Championship game with Alabama. Florida’s star receiver Percy Harvin was out with a badly sprained ankle. Meyer said that it was unknown if he would be ready for the game, but he went on to speak about how hard Harvin was working to try and be ready (4-5 hours a day of therapy on his ankle) and that every time he saw Meyer, Harvin reminded him that the last couple years, he had monster games against ...

... games outhere, where they just chase the football with a zoom lens (that drives mecrazy).

 

Ciba and Christina were going with us and met us atTisma's.  We made it down toBergamo just in time to catch the start of the 4:30 game.  I had made plans with a girl I met afew days earlier to go out at 8 or so, but then had to push it back to 10 so Icould catch this game.  I was happythat Tisma drives very fast because it only took us two hours to get there andanother two to get ...

... before we left, 8 Carbineiriofficers walked into the pool right past us to the bar.  Apparently a guy was too drunk and thebar keep cut him off.  The drunkenpatron became upset and the police were called.  Then he tried to resist the Carbineiri and got slammed onthe ground and hand cuffed in front of a large crowd that had gathered.

We grabbed Kebabs then went back to Christina's apartmentand watched "A Guide to Reckognizing Your Saints."  It's one of my favorite movies, and ...

... that I regret those visits for one second because I don't.  I was thrilled that my sister made it out, and Mike got to play and stay with me for a couple games, but now they are gone and I must entertain myself in Bolzano - a beautiful but fairly docile place.  My Mother wrote me saying that she figured as much would happen.   The week has been very up and down in terms of my moods.  I'll work out at noon and feel good but then go back home and wonder how I should ...

... and arrived in Sermione.  Sermione is this adorable town that does not allow cars.  We walked along the lake and observed the adorable town. I had lunch with Garrett his roomate Paul and three girls that they had made friends with.  Then we ventured some more in the town, glanced at the ruins and saw the olive trees that the city is known for. ... to be in such a beautiful place. We are happy because they told us they want us to stay for awhile, so we are excited to just enjoy the scenery and the great people here in the tiny town that I swear is kept a little secret so it can remain dreamlike. Thanks Bill and Angie for setting this up. Bill- I LOVE meeting your family! They are just precious and we are having such a great time.
