Quito venter i morgen.
Tak for de mange smsfoedselsdagshilsner jeg har modtaget i dag! Det er rigtig dejligt at hoere fra jer alle! Lars sang og pyntede broed op med lys og flag, saa jeg er rigtig blevet fejret her til morgen.
Hi there!
Have arrived in the above place starting with H.
Took 4.5 hours from Lima and there was a rather R rated movie on the bus for a rather G audience! Only in Peru!
Was interesting and sad to travel through the slum areas of this country. Quite incredibale that people can put down roots just about anywhere.
The last night we were in Lima we went to Circuit Magico del Aguia ...
... Restaurant Mayo serves more for breakfast than for lunch, though we did manage to get hairs for free in the food and lots of flies to add to the ambiance. Believe it or not, we loved the weather and the scenery. The dunes were always in the background and they made you feel close to the sky. Sandboarding was a slight disappointment, only slight since it didn't cost much. I heard the buggy ...
Huacachina, Peru nathanialwest... legs you really get some speed up.
Off to watch the sunset, but by then it is so cold we dont wait for it to completly disappear. Some more roller coaster fun and its back to the hotel, mad.
Next day we are up at 5.30 for our trip to the Ballestas islands. Do the rounds picking people up then its about 1 hour to Paracas. The hotel we were going to stay at looks ok though I suspect it doesnt have a pool or parrots ...
... five spent in Paracas, we
went to bed with bellies full of the freshest seafood imaginable.
Scallops, sea bass ceviche, steak, eggs, fried bananas, mind-blowing
soups, and yes, plenty of rice. As it turns out, the Paracan's
tolerance for spice is mild in comparison to Mollie and my own.
[Mollie's notes: Rosas
kitchen (El Arizal) and her wait staff were so charming! Clelia's
hostel (El Refugio del Pirata) was AMAZING. I watched E! Channel for ...
After a few days of grey skies and chilly wandering around Lima we decided to pack our bags and head south to an oasis in the desert that some other backpackers in Lima were talking about. We decided to mark our last day in Lima by drinking too much and hanging around with locals in sandwich bars. This meant that I didnīt quite enjoy our bus trip down the coast as much as Nadine as I was unable to eat... The ...
Huacachina, Peru nadineandduncan... New Zealand, where theyīll tour that part of world until there work visas take effect and they start there jobs there. Needless to say this meant that had plenty of interesting ideas for where to travel and things to do, and apprectiated our limited knowledge as well. After a bit four of our group decided to once again go out in search of this evasive disco, but Rachel and I figured weīd stay and talk to our new friends. A while later when it became clear that no one else was ...
Ica, Peru mpbezold... of the same, bombing around the dunes crazily in this manic machine, reaching a peak and then boarding down it. I was very proud of myself on the final one; after falling over a few times at the very top I managed to stand up and keep my balance for a good ten seconds or so...until I reached a ridiculously fast speed, hit a bump and went absolutely flying, rolling over and over and landing on my ****! The driver also took us to a really good dune from which to watch ...
Huacachina, Peru alastair6... and Diego, who I'd started to trust at that point.
After driving 10 more minutes into nowhere Diego told us to get out of the van and climb a sand dune. He promised a spectacular panoramic view of the reserve. Sure, like it could get any better. At the top of this dune was, in fact, one of the most amazing sites I'd ever seen. I
felt as if I was on the moon. There were strange, bumpy dunes to the left that seemed almost too perfect in color and shape to be real. To ...
... crimes rates went up etc etc, so that didnīt really help things. The town does seem to be slowly rebuilding, but there is still twisted and broken buildings everywhere.
The reason that tourists come to Pisco (apart from wanting to scare themselves) is to visit the Islas Ballestas, otherwise know as the 'poor manīs galapagos'. So thats what we did. A boat takes you out to the islands and drives you around them a few times, and you get to try and take ...
