Zandstralen!
Argentina's Switzerland
We arrived in San Carlos De Bariloche, Argentina's mini Switzerland, to find that the entire town was booked out in accomodation due to it being the Easter weekend. We were also alarmed to find out that our airbnb booking had fallen through and the hostel booking site we used for the back-up hostel had made an error and double booked the hostel. We …

The trek.....well the bits we were able to do.
5 days, 4 nights has changed to 3 days 2 nights. The difficult day 3 is closed as bad weather dumped a lot of snow around there which has not gone away. We offer to sign a waiver as others do in jan and feb but in late april they are having none of it. Disappointed but may well be a blessing in …

Having trouble finding a …

Well then imagine that you´re doing it on a Greyhound bus with no bathroom, the majority of the road is winding gravel backroads (and haven´t seen a grader in quite some time) and there´s …

TravelPod Member ReviewsHosteria Portofino San Carlos de Bariloche
Nothing super fancy but clean and comfortable with an ensuite bathroom for the same price you would pay for a shared anywhere else. Breakfast and towels included, wifi and two available computers. Cleanliness is the only thing preventing me from giving it 5 stars as there were some dust bunnies under the bed a little bit of mould in the bathroom. That said, we would definitely come back!
