... state I never thought about it and got ripped off by the driver and ended up shelling out at least 3x as much. Whatever. I didn't have the patience or the Spanish at that point to argue. But we caught our bus!! And in Punta Arenas, ate ****** yakisoba, met some awesome people at our little hostel and watched snowboard videos into the wee hours of the morning (which by the way did NOT make me wanna leave all the snow behind). What a day!

... putting our suitcases back inside the car. Although the man remains silent and avoids direct eye contact I sense a bit of shame and even remorse in him. Maybe deep inside he knows that "an eye for an eye" only makes everyone blind.

As we drive away, Mai and I start chuckling: despite all their efforts these amateurs didn't find the secret compartment in the trunk where we hide... our macbooks.

... bis die erste Heladeria aufmacht. Ausserdem war ich drei Mal am Ufer, wo ich versuchte den "gewaltigen Tidenhub" (Zitat Lonely Planet) zu sehen - es war glaube ich den ganzen Tag lang Ebbe - habe ausfuhrliche Recherchen fur die Weiterreise betrieben und ein paar Blogs geschrieben. Zwei Helados spater konnte ich dann endlich wieder zum Bus und weiter nach Norden ...

... and then taking the bus to Puerto Natales was about 70% cheaper. Although it did take a bus to get to Puerto Natales we figured it was still a bus ride from wherever we would have. ie- you could fly into El Calafate or into Punta Arenas but you would still have to get a bus to Puerto Natales...

... which most of them took - just can't get enough.

We are headed straight for the rain clouds and by noon we are in the middle of it but we are die hards, we keep going (truth is we would get soaked if we were to stop to close the roof.... :) )

At lunch time we took a break. The hotel had provided a picnic - a submarino from the cafe by the gas station rounded it of.
