... I'd forgotten my buoyage system and was heading for the wrong side of it. Alarmed, and thinking I was about to risk running us aground, I threw the wheel over and turned us hard to squeeze between the gap between pontoon and buoy, only just skimming by it with our left bow, while he stared at me in bewilderment. My original course would have been fine, of course, but at least I know I can do some pretty tight manuoevring.

... expensive trip!!
We left Santander and arrived in Madrid. The train speed was displayed in the carriages during the trip and we had been travelling at an average speed of 250km/h. The views were great....lush green country dense forested hills.... Then as we came out the end of a mountain tunnel closer to Central Spain, the grass was no longer green, the trees were sparse and the clouds darker. We got off the train and went directly to the ticket machine ...

It was another perfect day when we woke. Bread and Nutella for breakfast then we put our swimmers on and set off to enjoy the day. We walked the coast line, stopping at each little beach and headland to take photos and chill out with the other beach loving locals. There were dogs running around everywhere, topless and wrinkly, leather skinned old ladies sun baking, groups of people playing paddle ball, and picnics set up where large families were all gathered around gazebos ...

The easiest way we found to get from France to Spain was the bus. We used the local bus to get to Biarritz then from there caught a bus to sans Sebastian where the driver kicked us off the bus and stole our bags, an hour later we got our bags back and caught the bus to Bilbao, then from Bilbao we got on a fancy, upperclass bus to Santander. This bus was lovely. Leather recliner chairs with lazy boy style foot rests. They served food and drinks, ...
