    ... terminal.

Andrew and I got off the bus and walked straight through the village, which exists solely to provide services to walkers, to the start of the Fitzroy track. We decided to go directly to mount Fitzroy and camp at Poincenot in case the weather changed and we'd loose visibility. The peaks are notorious for hiding behind clouds and eluding trekkers eyes! Not us! We had five days of amazing weather where the towers were always visible, if only briefly obscured ...

This is an area of geological change as there has been a lot of volcanic activity and there is also evidence of glaciers in the area. We left the hostel just past 8:00 and were transferred about 30 minutes away to another hostel down the dirt road that commences at the end of the Main Street that runs through El Chalten. Here is where we began our trek ...

... parlour that I had read good things about online so I booked myself in for one on Tuesday night as I figure I might be sore from some of the activities I'd be doing over the next few days. I also stopped at the grocery store to pick up food so that I cook at the hostel and not eat out all the time. The store had limited choices to eat in all sections but I did find some things to make some salads over the next few days and some things to take for ...

... right one was killing me, been doing so since after the w. Was quite a bit uphill but put on my iPod and got going. But stopped as couple showed me some rare endangered woodpeckers apparently. Pretty cool hearing them tapping away at the wood. At fitzroy mirador - stunning - bumped into Ben and Francesca who were on perito Moreno bus so I walked with them after that and time went so much quicker but for the last one hour slog uphill for 1km I lagged behind - ...
