This morning we showered up quick and ate the breakfast that was delivered to our room as quickly as we could. We have a morning bus to Calama and we don't want to be late. When we arrived in our beloved Calama, it was as if no one remembered that we had just spent three nights here. Day 58 – Haunted Calama

... happy. For $4 a piece we had a drink, salad, soup, beef with curried rice and dessert of coffee with orange ice cream.

We walked a little further up through the street lined with vendors selling cheap Halloween costumes. Our eye caught the Artesan market, but when we entered we discovered it wasn’t filled with souvenirs and art but with teen posters, cheap jewellery and heavy metal t-shirts. Welcome to Calama.

The area was so beautiful, made even more impressive in the twilight. It was quite warm near the geyser, but freezing elsewhere, so we put up with the smell and explored every divot in the area. Some were filled with bubbling mud, others with hot water and others still were just vent locations for the steam building below our feet. We loved it here.
