Our planning certainly paid off.

The next part of our trip, now heading back northwards towards Saint Flour, was the best yet. Anyone coming into this area, the D9 and D983 and also the N106 this is an absolute must. I think, sitting on the back of Ruby I took over a good 200 pictures of the scenery, approx 3,750ft up. ... walk round the town, which was just clearing up after some sort of celebration. The streets were full of pink and white paper heart shaped confetti, there were the remnants of the band sitting down in the square for a drink... lots of people having a jolly good time, the local unfortunate and a few random dogs.

There were not many bistros, but we chose the one in the square and walked in for supper.
