... br>For the rest of the week until Friday I just relaxed at home and did what i usually do at home in Perth, watched Friends, read and went on facebook =) I also watched Slumdog Millionaire one day and enjoyed it, it also brought back good memories of jai ho =)
One morning i took a walk through the main streets of Dijon and did a little bit of shopping. I bought some mustard for my Dad and some gloves for me =)
On the Wednesday ...
... i had to touch cheeks with everyone i met, which takes awhile :P The first class on Monday was philosophy in which i understood absolutely nothing and so i spent the lesson teaching myself some french and having Marie and her friend Camille correct and explain things to me.
After philosophy we left school and had lunch with Marie's friends, Paul and (a guys name that i can't pronounce and so i forget it ^^). We had Italian Pasta, it ...
... seats. But everyone stands up with their luggage.
I was very tired during all of this from my flight and also because i had to lug my 19kg suitcase and two bags a long way.
I waited at the terminal with the other students and a chaperone for nearly 4 hours! While i was at the terminal i spoke my first bit of French in France. It went like this "Bonjour. Je voudrais un "ice tea" si vous plait." haha. it felt very strange almost like it was so fake.

... really got what, but it all tasted good.
Our trip to Burgundy would not be complete without a stop in Nuit-St. George, where we again employed the "look for the sign of whoever is open" tactic and were not dissapointed. We got to try some excellent Pinot, C******nay, and even some Aligote (a white that they mix with Creme de Cassis for an aperitif) from some of the local producers.
Now its up to Champagne!
... easily but finding parking made us take one too many turns around the first wine hall which made me eager to get out of the car. It was only 10:30am so we had to wait 30 minutes until the next tour. Finally we we paid and were handed fancy wine glasses with the emblem of the place engraved (we tried to keep them but we weren't allowed). Angela's mom picked this as stop number one because it was advertised as a learning experience and not just a drinking experience. The ...
Beaune, Bourgogne, France t.rosileI only stayed for one night here because there was nothing in particular that I wanted to see, I just came to see what it was like. I caught the train back to Paris and had to use a different train station because Paris has several, all of which have trains going to certain places. My metro ticket should have expired but the other morning it had worked so I tried it again. After a couple of goes it was accepted, Yes! Machines can be foiled, and then 'stole' my way to Gare De ...
Dijon, Burgundy, France tonkin... bike (500kg ?) on the back of a camper leaving the site. A quick double-take showed the rack (looking just like ours) had a small road wheel centrally placed. I am dubious and need an engineer, chris, to tell me that this is a sensible idea. If so, we may be swapping the Innova for the Bonneville!.
More torrential rain, thunder and spectacular sheet lightning during the night.

After touring the hospice, we did a little shopping (OK, I did a little shopping and Attila did a little waiting). In trying to pay for my purchase, I discovered a compatibilty probelm with the chip in my Visa. Apparently France hasbeen using the chip for quite some time and some of the readers are not compatible with our new chips in North America. Anyway, it ...
... from Troyes to Dijon and just beyond to Beaune seemed, as I'd feared it would, to go on forever. There was some dramatic weather with torrential rain just north of Dijon, which at least took the heat out of the day for a while - it had been very very hot in the depths of the afternoon... But at last we pulled into Beaune and soon spotted a 'Camping' sign; it was easy to track the site down. 'Cent Vignes' is municipally ...
Beaune, Bourgogne, France saracengill... is the bad tease we get from the French, it doesn't help to really appreciate them and I'm not the only one to think it. I don't get to talk much with people though and I don't seem to be well accept there is those little clan already formed... I'm just gonna get through that period! It somewhat look like a prison when you have a look at the morale of the people :( We also had to work under rain today and my back is again hurting. Viva Apsorbine (medication liquid ...
