Hamish and I took a train and bus up to Each-Sur- Sure. A very pretty region that is part of one of the Luxembourg National Parks. The trees were past there autumn best, but still pretty. We started off by exploring the castle... now a well preserved ruin, that sits above a town that is in the"u" bend of the river Sure. Then we walked along the river banks towards Lultzhausen. It was a track some ...

... day, weather forecast was shaky we tried to get back on the fastest track which is route 2. Otherwise we would have combined 3 and 5. Upon arrival on Kirchberg heavy rain started, our choice was good.

On route 2 in Hostert signs show two alternative directions. The one with less altitude change is via Holstert village (not route nationale).

Next was a trip to Weeze and Goch, where the Stafford clan lived during the late 70s and early 80s while my Dad (Antony) was serving in the Royal Air Force. A strange feeling going back, more so with Goch, as I remembered it more. Next was a trip to Royal Air Force Laarbruch, which is where my Dad was stationed. It is now ...

... to be crazy…if it was crazier than the weekend I had I’m not sure I could’ve handled it. The best compliment I can give to a place is "I’ll be back", and I will be back to Luxembourg one day. Thanks to everyone I met who made the weekend special: Sibel, Sven, Anja, Mark, Nadine, Vicki the Irish bartender, etc. An extra special shout-out to Sibel, who lived in Oman before so I got to reminisce on my brief experiences in my favorite Middle Eastern ...

... Maryce was starving. After some pizza and a drink we took off for the Metro and made our way back to the hotel…talking and looking around the whole time.

We were greeted by the same girl that was at the desk at Hotel Aspromonte when we left 2 days ago; she showed us up to the family suite which had two rooms…what a surprise…it was magnificent …really modern and nice. As it turned out the owners are slowly renovating the rooms one by one and ...
