... juice, fruit and toast with jam. I guess Peter must be feeling better as he gave Lian one of his long, detailed explanations of Pickleballl! Quite close to our room, on the other side of a small bridge, is a Camino shell embedded in the street in bronze! This scallop shell is the symbol of the Camino and many pilgrims carry one on their packs. So there must have been a walking route to Santiago all the way from Bruges. Occasionally on our walk we would see ...

... strange sauce with raw onions on top- which was apparently amazing!

After this it started to rain quite hard and so we decided to do more touristy things starting with a 4D experience of Bruges in the 1500's. So we entered and followed an artists apprentice through the meeting of a model and a parrot through to the production of a famous Bruges painting.. it sounds pretty odd and let me assure you it was- but still interesting.. and yet ...

... Now you see me" at the cinema on board, had potential but got a bit silly then off to bed, this time we had a bottom bunk each :)

Docked in Hull and rode into a thunder storm, excellent, 5 mins on home soil and soaked already. Fortunately we outran the rain and had a fast if boring ride up the A1 and managed door to door in less than 2 hours. And that was it, all done :(

... belgians (the flemmish, actually) and quite simply, i love them...they seem to be wonderful people with a great style and it's not really something i saw in bruges - i didn't notice it was missing until i saw it in gent...i'll take Gent over Bruges any day (and if anyone is planning on going, uu-huuum con&helen, stay in gent and do a day trip to bruges, it's only 30mins by train)
