... both languages were fairly prevalent.

The three things Brugge is famous for were hard to miss: chocolate, beer and lace. The window displays are filled with delicious treats and marzipan - a visual feast that acts as quite the temptress. Needless to say it did not take us long to visit a chocolatier, and there were no hesitations in ordering a ‘Duval’ (Devil in Flemish - at 8% I ...

Day in Belguim

A travel blog entry by oneluckygirl on May 11, 2013

We had already used this travel day on our EuRail pass, so we decided, "why not go to Belgium?" We put our bags in a locker in the train station and set off. It took around 3 hours to get to the lovely city of Brugge. I've noticed they use a lot of bricks in that area. After all, we have still enjoyed our stay immensely, and unlike some, don’t let these things get in our way of a good trip.

It’s a 25 minute ...

I like the Dutch, part 1/3480

... we went with Europcar, being much cheaper than the competition. I'd read some horror stories on the web, but we took our chances. At least for our trip, we had no problems at all. I loved our Opel Corsa to the extent that I wanted to buy one; upon researching I learned that (a) Opel is owned by General Motors now, and (b) GM won't sell the things in the US. Good job, GM.

But I digress. We spent no time looking around France on the way to Belgium, sticking ...
