Andrea and I then played monopoly deal (a card game) while Evan played in the pool. Dinner was more like a buffet to use up all perishable goods as not much stands up to this heat.

The floral displays in all the cities, towns and villages have been beautiful. They obviously don't suffer from windy weather as the bhanging baskets everywhere have been stunning.
Many of the front gardens in Belgium and Holland are quite small, formal and structured. The one plant that wins the popularity stakes for garden plants is the hydrangea, especially large white ones. They obviously do really well.
