... windows cleaned. Made it back to Briare about 5pm, filled up with fuel (80 litres for 166 kilometres and 41 engine hours is not bad!), sorted out our computer backups and settled down to another of Denise's meals and a very welcome early night in bed. 11th July The final anchorage-- Briare Washing, cleaning, buying train tickets and arranging to meet our French hosts tomorrow was the order of the day. 8th July After breakfast we washed some basics and then took off on the recommend walking tour of this little town-- (recommended by the Office de Tourisme). It was that warm some people were swimming in the canal and all the boats were sounding their horns in fun. We joined in with the fun too, (sounding our horn, not swimming as we know what is in there!).

John then measured up to make a new support bar ...

... way I saw a deer grazing in a wheat field. It bounded away when it saw me. Pity I didn't have the camera. On the way back I detoured around some of the very quaint streets and lanes. I was fascinated by the cellars with inclined doors right on the roadway. One very decrepit one gained my attention when a French women about the same age as the cellar opened it and went down out of sight! That walk was a highlight and I am sorry Denise was not with me to enjoy it as ...
