... frogs leaping in the water as we approached and huge red and blue dragonflies. Guy kept his eyes peeled in the forest for any wild boar or deer but still no luck.
A lovely dip in the pool in the evening sunshine - still hot enough for me at 7pm to stay in for a while and a great game of volley ball beach ball!

... lingo - definitely improving in both vocab and confidence, with Andy able to understand and say the most and Matthew helping out with words we've forgotten. A typical Logis with excellent food for a €20 3 course meal - and having seen the trolley of cheeses as we left (like the old-fashioned dessert trollies brought to your table) Andy was keen to return again!

Nice to chill out in the space of the gite and the private grounds - had a wander in the forest and nearby river (but avoided the quicksand after the owners warning) and a swim in the lovely pool. It is a short walk across a field with it's own little summer house fully equipped with shower, kitchenette and BBQ - very cool! I was under the weather with a tummy bug which started on Friday night and has lingered so nice to take it easy.

... see this historic old church, dating back to the 9th century and containing relics os St Martin who lived in the 8th century. We then pushed off and went back to Belleville sur Loire, a little village we passed on the way down the day before. Pleased we did that too but it was not as big or pretty as Lere. 8th July After breakfast we washed some basics and then took off on the recommend walking tour of this little town-- (recommended by the Office de Tourisme). We'd done some of the sights the day before but it was worth a second look. Lots of photos. The tour was mostly through the medieval part of town and some of the buildings must have been 4 or 5 centuries old. We were enthralled. On the way home we bought a bread stick ...
