      We spent only 5 days in Switzerland (it ain't cheap!), and I loved it there. The country itself had overall a genuinely warm, kind vibe.
      We stayed in the French-speaking region of the country, in a city called Lausanne, which is on the opposite side of the Lake from Geneva, and has apparently been called "the San Francisco of Switzerland."

      ... perfection (except for its out of place casino). The 2km promenade along the shore is a must with blooming gardens, sculptures and sights to see everywhere. Strongly recommend! A quick stop at the hotel where Barbara's art is exhibited then we headed back through town window shopping, mostly closed as it was 7pm after a long day.       The weather looked a bit dodgy but we headed out and caught the train back to Vevey, followed by a boat journey on Lake Geneva to Chillon Castle.
