It has been a while since I felt like writing, whether about pretty landscapes or about my state of mind. I had intended Buenos Aires to be a place of rest and reflection, and the time I reached this city would be a deadline for making some all-important life decisions that I have been thinking over all this while. But nothing ever works out as you plan it. I'm sad to report that there will be no more photos from this trip. As I was sitting leasurely at a cafe one sunny afternoon, I fell vict...

... pats live here, and its also pretty touristy which makes it more expensive than other parts of the city.
I spend most of my time here walking around the city, seeing the sights, and meeting old friends (I keep discovering that someone else I know happens to be in town). One major adventure was taking the subway. There are five subway lines in the city. Four of them are modern, but the "A" line, which was the first in ...
... the road to have the best veggies and tofu I’ve had outside of Australia (except China) and then later that night when Milli wasn’t feeling well I went to meet another friend Anton (with whom we went to Cotopaxi, Ecuador with) to have a few drinks. He was with his new Peruvian girlfriend and from now on I shall refer to him as Don Juan as every time I see him he seems to have hooked up with a new fling.
Last day in Lima (and for that matter, South America ...
... more red meat. Roast Beef at home just wont be the same. Back to BA the next day where we booked flights to Iguazzu and had a quintessential Argentinian evening of a Tango lesson then a Tango show which was a lot of fun - the dancing was very impressive. The professional dancers - not mine. So that was BA and I think we caught the essence of it - the food, the nightlife and the Tango. A great few days but now it was on to the spectacular Iguazzu.
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina doyley... we could tell the inside is neat, but the outside looked pretty shady. I think that´s because all of the cars and buses are sol old and put out so much nastiness that the soot just covers that part of town. There were other buildings that would have looked nice, except that they were also covered in the gray. It really made me appreciate US emissions testing.
We passed an Italian Art Museum (I´m not quite sure what that´s doing here) and Plaza San Martin, with the ...

Lima, Peru deekeule... my things and see what I come across. My ignorant bliss was a copy of my passport. This saves intense amounts of paperwork and time with the embassy. Next came convincing family members that I had not been obducted and held for ransom by Lukas and Louis. Family precautions were definatly more than justified, as I was having them send money to a name they had never heard. Five hundred dollars in ...
Lima, Peru rwathne... in Lima Thursday and Friday. Saturday, we took a bus to Paracas, a natural reserve. Sunday we went to Ica and Huacachina, an oasis in the desert. We did some sandboarding. Monday we headed down to Nazca where we took the overnight bus to Arequipa... I wrote everything in details in my journal. I will write in more details soon
Lima, Peru amel84... tour of Casa Rosa (Parliament House - hey it was free!!!) and we went home for a siesta before off to dinner again. This time we met some guys from Paraguay - even though we were the only one´s speaking English, we had a great night luckily we had "Spanish with 50 words" behind us, or we could have had a quiet night!!! Totally recommend the The Claridge Hotel - really close to everything!! Tomorrow we´re off to our B&B in the suburds of Palermo.
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina freshwater_trip... the finale to its Carnivale in the next few days, so we sussed out a ferry bus combo to get us there the next day, and had the first of many bloody good steaks! Brad had been to BA in 2001 with work, and the city did seem busier and more pricey since they had sorted out their economy since its freefall and devaluation in the early naughties, but the plan was to see more of it right at the end of the trip before we got on our return flight from BA airport.
