... day and the first day I've worn thongs since Bruges!!!!
Walked to the beach and waded in the water but too cold to go swimming.
Went to Fife for dinner which was recommended by Peter from the hostel and also the barman on Friday night as the best place in town to get good local food at local prices.
Had an awesome meal of Sarma (mince wrapped in cabbage leaves) and Fozol - bean and ham dish.

Sunday went to market ...
Split, Croatia richlum... down a little. We put on our raincoats and walked into town, risking getting drenched. It ended up not being too bad but started pouring again soon after.

So after three days on the beautiful island of Hvar, we did not go to the beach once. We did not see any sun until it peeked out for a few minutes an hour before we left. The only good thing was that those were the three days Andre had a cold/flu so even though it was a bummer he was ...
Hvar, Hvar Island, Croatia mdaa... it wasn't luxury, it was decent and we really enjoyed it. There was a couple from Switzerland who were in Croatia for windsurfing and we talked to them for a little while the following morning before we headed out.

Today has to have been the most relaxing day of the trip! We woke this morning and while we were having our breakfast, Matt spotted three dolphins swimming out in the water below us! We watched them for ...
Seget Vranjica, Splitsko-Dalmatinska, Croatia armajor7... again. But you'd try to wade it out and just to be off the boat for a while.

Lunches were awesome. First day we got soup, just delicious, stupid thing was we thought that was it as it was a massive bowl plonked on the table. Rookie mistake, there was second course of pasta, then dessert. Most lunches were 2 if not 3 courses beginning with soup then a second course which during the week included calamari, fish and potatoes, snitzels, mousakka, other random yummy things. Dessert ...
Split, Croatia davechowie... hard here, as you will be told shortly. By about midnight I had decided to head back to the hostel, get a good nights sleep, the 5 hour bus ride really drained me out. But to not disappoint myself (or you), I bought a couple of beers from the supermarket theka, and proceeded to consume them at the hostel while exchanging destination tips with two girls from Atlanta. By the way, I didn't mention this before, but my dorm at the hostel had 6 girls. And me. I couldn't find ...
Split, Croatia dhruvkAnother hot day in Croatia- Thank God that our vehicle is air conditioned! Ante met us this morning to show us Split and the surrounding area. We first went to Salona, the ruins just recently found as the home of Diocletian, a brutal Roman Emperor.

Ante explained that during the communist era, ruins or any archaeological finds were not respected. He showed us how lucky they were to have what ...
Split, Croatia premiertravel... the area where the performances were taking place. This time, I took a seat and watch for quite a while (resting my old bones). It was awesome. A tenor sang many songs and was truly incredible. We then were graced with an acapella choir and the tenor returned. Following his second set, the choir returned this time with a guitar and two mandolin players. Great talent all of them, in a wonderful outdoor setting. I made my way back down the mountain and ...
Split, Croatia elaqidCroatia! Yay! Today we are in Split. It is my first time in this country after hearing such great things about it from my friend Tamara. Split did not disappoint. The city is absolutely splendid. The coast line is astonishingly beautiful. The water is a gorgeous blue-green, and there are nice brown mountains in the background. The orange tiled roofs make for a nice contrast. We started our day by walking into the walled city. We ...
Split, Croatia callis... in Dubrovnik. I also checked out the boat schedule from Split to Hvar which would help me figure out what time we need to return to Split from Dubrovnik on the 2nd of August. I decided I would leave at 10 am tomorrow for Dubrovnik and return to Split the next day by taking the 5 am bus so we could catch the 11 am catamaran to Hvar. I am not sure what Franca is going to think about getting up at 4 ...
Split, Croatia dinovagabond... had lived in Newcastle for a while! One of the Guys, Brett from Port Macquarie knew Matt Sproll, One of the Girls, Libby works with Andris, and another Nicola knew Carlos. It was a completly trippy!! We had a great trip over, we got the cheap deck seats but because the boat was empty we got to sit inside and take up 2 recliners each. Then we sat up and ate junk food and drank vodka or cheap wine...any way fun ...
