Strastnoy bul'var 4/3 Moscow, Central Russia, Russian Federation, 50000
We have now been in Moscow for a couple of weeks. What was first intimidation has now grown into fondness and delight. As each day goes by we meet more and more joyful citizens who look at us in confusion over why we have come to Moscow as a part of our travels. "Why would you want to come here?" It's not as bad as they think; there are many beautiful sights and scenes from the Red Square to several parks which are dotted all about the city.

We opted for the drink (which turned into two each as we marvelled at the decor). Our waiter was curious about the underdressed yokels in his flash establishment and was eager to hear about our exploits. We were a bit taken aback when he reappeared with a Russian language menu for us as a memento! We were also farewelled by the owner A nice gesture.

... there. I have to compliment how the Russian family utilized their limited bathroom space to its max potential. 2) The general attitude of the Russian people toward Americas are positive. They welcome the Americans, especially during my homestay experience. They mentioned to me the thing they don't like the policies that the American government exerts on foreign countries, they consider that American imperialism. However, the Russian people ...
Moscow, Russia andrewyShane says; Irkutsk - Moscow. 25th - 28th February. 76 hours in total. Day 1. 11.10am Moscow time (4.10pm local time) 5185 km's from Moscow. All trains run on Moscow time, no matter where ever you are in Russia. This is supposed to make it easier when the country spans 8 different time zones, but in reality it's just really confusing when the clock tells you it's 3pm and it's pitch black outside. Just about to leave Irkutsk Station. Going to be a long trip. 1.30pm Moscow time ...
Moscow, Central Russia, Russian Federation shanemilli... Conclusion- metal detectors ineffective. Got into Red Square and it was lit up like a Christmas tree. Saw the Russian boxer unsuprisingly win against the US boxer. Conclusion - match fixed / US boxer ineffective. Sunday.... Arrived by Red Square to go to Lenin's tomb. Was confronted by even more barriers than the previous day. Conclusion - Iron Curtain is slowly expanding once again. Managed to breach the barriers ...
Moscow, Russian Federation annakins64The Kremlin is the stronghold of a city. Moscow's Kremlin was first built in the 1150s and has seen many changes. Today, the Kremlin is the seat of government for all of Russia. Tourists are allowed inside the Kremlin walls. This is quite a treat. There are numerous cathedrals and each is amazing in its own right. Past Tsars are buried here as are old patriarchs of Moscow. Some of the tombs date back to the 1100's. Unfortunately, photographs weren't permitted inside any of the ...
Moscow, Central Russia, Russian Federation kathryn.russell... market apparently the place to go to find souvenirs or antiques. We were initially disappointed when we walked through stalls of old clothes until we realised that these were just itinerant affairs outside the market proper. Once through the gates, we entered a bizarre world, a sort of Russian Disneyland built in a medieval fashion. There were hundreds of wooden stalls, all crammed with all the usual and many unusual things to buy. There were ladies in traditional ...
Moscow, Central Russia, Russian Federation ziniandlulu... Cubans in a specialised humidor room, Dominicans, etc. just on ordinary shelves (perfectly appropriate!). Plenty of jewelry for sale as well as watches, cameras, iPods, etc, etc, etc. All that kept me interested for about 15 minutes. After which I went to look for a seat - not an easy task. Dubai airport is enormous and there are lots of seats, the problem was the majority of the seats were occupied, as well as much of the available floorspace. The entire airport ...
Moscow, Russia winston... Pavel's church as well as some city-centre churches. We had a "small world" experience when Wayne realized that he had driven their older son to John Brown University (where he attends school) on a previous visit to see friends in Tulsa. It has been a productive and enjoyable visit to Russia. We leave with a new sense of direction for our long-term relationship with Pavel and the church in Zelenograd. We definitely will return, and we will pray for each other until then.
