Yep back on the bus we had arrived on the day before with our bikes, travelled on the bus 50km out of town up hills down hills in the desert (hope you are getting the picture here) at the 50km mark we hopped off the bus with our bikes and the bus carried on.

Oh well Monty says to late now this is it and we were off. Time to chill out - if we hadn´t been before!

... to rise from Mendoza up but has hit a new high here of 37 degrees - come on tan! Therefore, we thought we deserved the bottle or two that we had that day!

Next we hired bikes and headed to the mountains. We had heard that there was a waterfall up there but couldn´t believe it as virtually every river has dried up. Nevertheless we started our climb in 34 degrees! The river was a puddle! You win some and you loose some - this was still a winner ...

Argentina part 2

... guide” mad me poo my pants with some terrifying ghost stories, half of them true and half for his own entertainment.. Then we made our sad goodbye and headed to Salta and the boarder to Bolivia. It felt like I was leaving Loas and entering China again. I really didn't want to go. Argentina felt like home and filled with such warm, amazingly friendly people who will try to help you in whatever way they can!

Its in a close running with Loas and ...

Red, red, wine!

... roads when we were doing a lot more then 69kmph!

Being stopped by the police cost us valuable time, but we got the car back just in time and sucessfully argued with the woman from the car company that as the car was in the garage overnight and as ´we were forced to spend an extra night in Cafayate` we shouldnt have to pay for 3 days car hire, but only 2! hurrah! So in the end it only cost 15 quid each for the 3 days car hire - bargain! and it was a great road trip!

... fermé demain premier mai, nous avons décidé d'aller toute suite au musée archéologique. Impressionnant !

... a single portion of white amounted to half a bottle (this high-wine-score was equally balanced on the oth** side by the Chicken Milanesa which was more like breaded grissle than breaded meat). And that marked the end of our stay in Cafayate - short as it's indigenous inhabitants and sweet as it's white wine.

The weath** on the way back was beautiful; the sun had managed to finally break through the clouds and the Quebrada de Cafayate revealed itself in all it's colourful ...

... middle. The trail crossed the river several times where we were able to cool off. After about 2hrs we made it to the waterfall. It was about 10 meters tall and had quiet a lot of water streaming down. The water was freezing though so it was a quick in, stand under the fall get a picture and get out! Besides Dave almost scraping his toe off (yes we were wearing thongs) we made it back safely. We ended up ...

... a gate open to the fields of grapevines, so we decided to push our luck and see if we were able to find a nice spot in the vineyards, without getting killed by a security guard or a gang of snarling guard dogs!

We whizzed back through the gates and strangely enough the fields were absolutely deserted, so we found a nice spot under an oak tree with great views ...
