Ruta 12 Km 5 - Cataratas del Iguazu Puerto Iguazu, Province of Misiones, Litoral, Argentina, 3370, 3757-421823

Next stop IGUAZU... We have now nicknamed Fiona Iguazu (Iggy) because she is so accident prone (who knew???). Geddit? ... Iguazu Falls ... Anyways... Time to get the bus to the Falls. The Argentinian side. We decided not to bother with the Brazil side as it just would have been too messy and most people we met advised that there wasn´t much to do there. So we´re at the bus station and Aine gets this wave of nausea that then turns into the shakes. Oh my God I don´t ever think I´ve been that hu...
Iguazu Falls, Argentina ainekerriganGot up at 7am, got my stuff together then went to have breakfast. It was the best breakfast in a hostel I have had so far on my travels. There was a huge selection of food and drinks to choose from, as well as... fanfare please... cereal! I hadn´t had any since June, as every hostel seems to have enjoyed force-feeding the meagre fare of bread and jam. I had an overload of Frosties to compensate. Troy was on the computers, so at 7.45am we went outside and hopped in the minibus which was to tak...
Puerto Iguazu, Argentina alastair6Today I didn`t really do much. Me and Troy got up too late for breakfast, so went down the road to the shop and bought ourselves breakfast. I then did a marathon three-hour blogging session, had lunch, then Sonny, Anesh and Dipesh came and said goodbye as they were leaving. After this me and Troy sat by the pool and sunbathed for a few hours, listening to electro on each other`s iPods using my rather amazing travel speaker. Definitely worthy of a mention is that one of the hot receptionist gi...
Puerto Iguazu, Argentina alastair6We wrapped up two more days in San Pedro with a tour to the Valley of the Moon to watch the sunset which turns the Andes all sorts of colors, and a 4 am trip to the Tatio geyser field. We were really questioning the wisdom of that one as we spent 2 hours jolting along the bumpiest road we´ve encountered so far this trip only to get off the bus and discover it was 3 degrees F. But the geyser fields were great, despite the moronic group of tourists on our bus who couldn´t follow directions and ...
Puerto Iguazu, Argentina andreadCrossed the border over into Argentina and went to the Falls on this side. Took a boat trip right under the falls which totallu soaked us!Brilliant! Then did the various treks around the park for the rest opf the day, ended up at the Devils Mouth...absolutely amazing. I've never seen anything so powerful in my life. Was actually scary just looking at it! Really beautiful place, and great day! Arrived back at new hostel, The Hostel Inn...mini resort with swimming pool, pool side bar...happy da...
Puerto Iguazu, Litoral, Argentina arnold.martinaOkay, for the second time trying, we finally made it to Iguazu. This time we went to the right airport. For people making trips to Iguazu from Buenos Aires, the domestic flights go out of Aeroparque Jorge Newberry and not Ezeiza. We made that mistake and luckily we made changes without any cost involved. the first night in Iguazu was quite interesting because we stayed at the Hostel Inn Iguaza, which is located just outside the town of Puerto Iguazu. Little did we know, it was a pretty happen...
Puerto Iguazu, Argentina aushiroHoi droogblijvers Sinds het moment dat Zuid Amerika in the picture kwam als bestemming van onze reis, zei Maartje: 'Ik wil de watervallen van Foz Do Iguazu zien!' Zo gezegd, zo gedaan.
Iguazu National Park, Argentina basmaartjeMyself and Tom stepped off into the muggy heat of Iguazu after our 18-odd hour busride. The journey, in fairness, was probably the best I have ever undertaken, thanks in large part to the screening of ´8 Below´, the harrowing tale of how the rugged Paul Walker had to leave his huskies in Antartica for the winter. The story pretty much runs like this: our hero, Paul Walker is a sleigh guide at a remote scientific centre in Antartica. Because of a storm, all the humans are evacuated at the end ...
Iguazu Falls, Argentina belahanrattyArrived at the Hostel-Inn after the 18hr bus ride from BA
Iguazu Falls, Argentina bernard.oflynnWell I eventually made it up to Puerto Iguazu, but only just. Even though I left plenty of time to jump on my bus in Buenos Aires, I didn't take into account the size of the bus station and how difficult it would be to find the correct 'plataforma'. Unfortunately the ticket only gives you a range of ten platforms where the bus could leave from, and as the minutes drew closer my basic Spanish failed to point me in the correct direction. I did eventually find the platform but the man in charge...
