As the habit started, I got up past 07:00 and went to meet Barbara in time for breakfast at 09:00, but decided to stop at the internet shop beforehand because it was only 08:15. Unfortunately, it was closed. We however learned from someone from Barb's hotel that the road to Srinagar was now open for light vehicles, so before breakfast, we went to the taxi stand kind of behind my hotel and found ourselves a taxi for Srinagar. ... some rather swaggering Valentino black leather pull on boots from a nice little Lal Chowk shoe shop. This soarsto beone ofthe nicershipping areasin Srinegar. Once again DJ G.O.D. works the mix. The masses of back up pray-ers play Pips ...

... away. We paddled past floating carpets of water lilies and lotus flowers. We stopped at a man made island where we were served beautiful, sweet saffron tea made with cinnamon, cardamon and sliced almonds from a boat. We marvelled at the view, feeling like royalty as our drivers did the heavy paddling. The whole experience was incredibly relaxing and we all felt so calm. Along the way, other Shikaras selling jewellery pulled up along sides and we had the ...

... mosque and many commercial establishments closed. This Friday was extra special. ????????? As we paddled past mosques there were hundreds of people on boats and on land dressed in their finery, some praying and others enjoying themselves. We then a paddled back through canals lined with interesting buildings built on pylons on the lake bed. Only way in by boat. It was a long hot day so on return we were happy to settle down to ...
