Ferry to Tallinn

A travel blog entry by teamwaldron

We made our way to the ferry terminal to go to Tallinn. Of course it's not the same terminal as the Stockholm ferry so more public transport needed to be sorted out

Unlike the last time we did a ferry ride we made it in plenty of time to catch it this time.

This is only a 2 hour ride and it seemed to take 4 hours.

After off loading the ferry we were met by the owner of our Airbnb who for 7 Euros drove us to the unit. He helped us with our luggage and ...

Over a million people in the three little countries made a hand-holding chain and asked for their freedom and it was granted! Due to Kaarel's curiosity, we also went for a private tour of "the street of fallen women". We had no idea what "fallen" women meant - turns out it's the street ...

An unexpected pleasure

... I might add, I settled down for our journey. All was fine until approximately 3.30am when the train had to make a boarder crossing from Russia into Estonia. The train stopped and a mass of boarder guards descended on the train. In all I had my passport checked by 4 different people, taken away by one very stern looking female guard, an official stamp entered by another and finally returned to me. We then had a search of the compartment by yet another uniformed official, ...
