There were twice as many tour groups walking around as normal and although we loved Tallinn, we were happy to be heading on to Tartu, the 3rd largest city and the University town. It's been described as the soul of Estonia and we're looking forward to spending some time in a smaller town and doing laundry! That's one of the reasons we booked the place we did.

We awoke to rain battering the skylight and promptly rolled over to go back to sleep, hoping that when we awoke the sun would be out. Alas, this was not to be, but we did enjoy the extra lie in! We got up and bought bus tickets and then a snack lunch from the shop. Dennis took off for his business meeting and I ...

... 25-35mm but it was sunny with cloudy periods with a high of 18C. Tomorrow, we rise bright and early to start our trek to St-Petersburg. It's only 360 kms away but the delays at the Russian border are unpredictable. Last time our guide went through, it took her group 3:45 hours and everything went smoothly. If the border patrol decides to search the luggage, it can take twice as long.

... everything we could have wanted to see. It felt good to be amongst friends again. We spent our first night at Laini's house in Kejla. We drank wine, and Lejla cooked us her amazing cheese pastry in Laini's stove. The stove wasn't electric or gas, rather, it was a wooden stove, which yeilded amazing results. The house even had a warming wall, where they would put logs into a small vent in the wall, and the entire wall would heat up in order to heat ...
