"We're all cooking something and watching the Eurovision song contest semi-final tonight" my hosts tell me by way of a hello. So, I leave my bag at the hostel and go food shopping. The lounge is huge and, food cooked, we pile in and cross our fingers that Estonia can make it through to the final to join the "The Big Five" countries automatically …

Yep I don't think I can forget the German. I guess coconut milk isn't a local "crop" but it was cheap. So it became a local crop. Last night I went to bed like I always do and everything was fine. At 6:45 I wake up to the sound of liquid hitting the floor. The guy above me was so drunk that he peed on the floor. My stuff was injured in the incident. We got the person working and they cleaned up the mess. They washed ...

Have had a relaxing time on board mixed with interesting visits. After Oslo we went to Gothenburg, Sweden and went to some old fishing villages that are now holiday homes for the wealthy Swedes and Danes around the west coast. It was also the home of Volvo. The car area of Volvo is now owned by the Chinese. Also learnt interesting things about the history and everyday living there. They used to be able to bucket up herrings straight from the beach. We went to the port area of ...

... which is set back off the road. It's a small church and the organ was playing quite an ominous piece! Beyond this is the City Museum which covered everything from the changes in Tallinn's population and physical appearance to how products were marketed in the 1950s! It was worth a visit and told some interesting legends about the city. After this we were going to visit the Orthodox church across the road but sadly it was shut. This meant it ...

Today's is likely to be the final full day in Tallinn. Yet another cracking day of sunshine and 18c has made wandering around pretty good. First up today was a 'junk' shop just by the hostel. It is a treasure trove! All sort from the ex-USSR, such as Lenin statues, medals, knives etc. There were cameras and basically all sorts! Most interesting, or should I say eye raising items... - Full SS officers uniform complete with arm band - Various ...
