Verona and Padua
... caught up on the history I missed in school... Padua - a university town, the 3rd oldest in Europe, where Galileo taught. We visited St Anthony of Padua Cathedral, gothic architecture. We are staying near Venice, on the Adriatic Sea. Lovely, lovely seaside town with a marble boardwalk, fine sand and the roar of the surf (collected seashells to show Hope and Chloe) Our guide arranged for a turkey dinner for us, an unusual meal for Italians, nice touch. Day 7
... much better. Dinner was not to bad. Sat with an Australian Chinese family, dad and two daughters, had a wonderful gas bag with them. The Wine waiter brings me a free beer as an apology for the room debacle. Then when I went to pay for my share of a bottle of wine I shared with an Aussie farmer from WA she gave us that for free also, score:):):) Rick didn't come to dinner as he was so brassed of with the room and no bar open, so he missed out. Day 6
Got the growly face from the head waiter at breakfast. Cut a couple of chunks of bread and threw it in the toaster. he came tearing over and informs me that only the white bread goes in the toaster. Good time to pretend you don't understand, pillock. Glorious day weather wise, unfortunately there is a real cold wind blowing, Bad move to wear shorts today.
