Finally, after fours days of being stuck we have now arrived in Puerto Montt - not quite where we wanted to be but at least here we can just catch a bus! Penguins and a new plan...
We are now back on the mainland again in Puerto Montt. Yesterday we travelled to Ancud and then to Puinhil to the penguin colony. We were taken out on a boat by a local fisherman as the colony is on the islands just off the coast. Unfortunately we were not able to walk among them as we could have done at Punta Arenas but it was still a good trip. …
Back again!
We crossed the border back to Chile again without a hitch, although slightly disconcertingly they weren't even bothered about seeing us and our passports together - the bus driver just collected them all!
