... Our first stop was the incredibly beautiful Timanfaya National park. The scenery around us looked like the surface of the moon. Craters and jagged black rock were everywhere. All was surrounded by volcanos. Many sci fi movies are filmed here. The is a glass restaurant at the top of the park. Chickens are barbecued over the heat of a volcano. It smelled so good and we were hungry! I just couldn't get the aroma out of ...

Change of scenery but Still Anchored Off

... of the day I fished, swam and sunbathed. I snorkelled over the anchor to check everything was fine, which I should have done yesterday really, I may even have slept better if I had. I caught a decent sized Sea Bream but alas only one, the fish were really playing hard to get today. It's amazing how chilled out it is doing nothing with the sun beating down, watching the tourists on the beach getting their 'week of ...

        Anchored Off

A travel blog entry by ramblingsailors on Nov 03, 2015

... We got everything ready before setting off, the dinghy is back on the davits, engine primed and tested. We charged everything we could before leaving for a couple of hours, torch, phones, iPad, VHF radio and even the drill then set off around 12pm. There were a few boats anchored off the first beach and one was the 'mad' booze cruise catamaran out of Puerto Calero ( CataLanza ) so we opted for the next beach along. We dropped ...

... fees here, we also got a free night here as well so Rubicon as been a bit of a bonus. After Lunch we sunbathed on deck for a few hours before eventually venturing out for a long walk around Playa Blanca to work up an appetite for the Paella I made for dinner, then simply watched a DVD before bedtime, it was a very lazy relaxing day - I think the Spanish are rubbing off on ...

        White Rabbits

A travel blog entry by ramblingsailors on Nov 01, 2015

... I gave it a real slating, the difference now is we are in the Marina and right on the front which I must admit now, is very nice indeed. The whole place is better than Calero by miles and Playa Blanca front and Main Street are much more upmarket than Playa del Carmen by a mile. However get half a mile off the front and I stand by what I said, it's a concrete eyesore and god knows who would be so stupid to buy a property there that a fact. Once checked in we had a good ...
