Leaving relaxing Salento behind we took a minibus (brand new Mercedes van) for 6 hours to Popayan. Popayan is a small colonial town which is where we would be celebrating New Years. We couldn't be bothered with the hype of New Year so just wanted a nice local place where we could see the new year in in local style.
