... drops us. Need to revise plans. Maybe taxi to reservoir because that is the next point that the VDLP and the road intersect or are even close to each other. Would have liked to walk in the peace and quiet away from the road, however, should we get into any difficulty (as we would have if we'd not found out about the Albergue) we can't speak good enough Spanish to get us out of the poop! That will still give us a 17/18km day. Peeved that I damaged the ankle. That just stuffs us ...

Road up to the village says no pedestrian traffic so we follow the arrows thinking they will take us through another way. Nothing doing! Obviously the village doesn't want peregrinos so hi ho off we go on to tonight's destination.

There are signs that we are not allowed to pick the acorns (as if) but the locals may like them but all the notes say they are for the livestock as a supplement food. Heaven on the feet though stupido somehow managed to do a good full ankle roll while still in darkness on absolutely nothing. Was checking the rocks for slaps of yellow paint to say we were all ok. Walked on ...

... good thing is that this is going to be a relatively short trip - just under two months. The plan - stopover in Kent, Channel Tunnel, 6hr drive to Tours, over night stop - onto Bordeaux for a night then St Jean de Luz - then over the border into Spain - through Burgos, down to Salamanca onto Caceres; then Il Puerto De Santa Maria near to Cadiz for a break and rethink.

... range with snow. Caught the bus into town. Aaah unbelievable! A mix of Roman, Moorish, Medieval narrow stone streets and buildings. With the occasional 5 star hotel through a tiny stone door, no/few cars, even fewer tourists. That is the best part of it. And it is not even really cold so I don't understand that it is so quiet. Might have something to ...
