We visited a few old cities on the way to Caceres so a bit of wandering. Some ruins, some intact all interesting in their own ways. Caceres is a unesco heritage site and has been owned by many forces along the way. Like many old cities though it lacked a bit of greenery.

But hahaha we both hunkered down to get warm and fell asleep - think we were so cold that once we were warm in our beds we simply dropped off. So now awake and doing what we should have done a couple of hours ago before finding tonight's dinner.

Night routine established - clean up - set clothes for next day - replenish water - check maps and notes - check gear for next day - ...

... birds who like to hit the road early. Thankfully we had purchased stuff to eat early in case so at 7:30 we hit the road.

Ninja gear required to start the day - was cold and the wind was coming off the North Pole! Short bitumen stretch then 8km to the next village on easy soft dirt road. Soft, because of the rain! I'll take that! Beautiful cool walk with the sound of whoot whoots and cuckoos and sights of Hawks circling and storks in the sky. Lots of white and yellow broom ...
