It's a really well-developed country, and it generates a lot of money but corruption is rife in the ruling classes, some people's money has questionable origins and there is a huge poverty gap and drug problem. In certain areas of big cities, walking around solo is not advisable (which is true of big cities everywhere) and at night a definite no-no. Also, there is not a lot of sightseeing to do in cities, in the same way as Europe.
