Next up, walking to another point near the city center. My goal today is to make some discoveries, but mostly new food discoveries. I did find a nontouristy place for lunch today. Nobody spoke English, but were so kind to try to communicate with me. There were only 2 other patrons there. So excited! This is at least an authentic place because according to guide info no real Spanish place serves lunch ...

... and they were all dressed up not sure what that was about perhaps it also has to do with the fire festival. In one of the alleys they have also painted the doors but not as nice as when we were in Madeira.

Sunday 24th February. Today as usual we went down the Flamenco bar for another enjoyable lunchtime.

Then in the early evening we walked into town for the Exhibicio Tambors I Bombos.

This is a yearly parade of local drum bands that attracts over 800 drummers and is part of the build up to Easter. It's quite something to see and hear with all the bands in their different coloured costumes playing in time together. The short ...

February 1st. Fi & James ( Seonaid's daughter and boyfriend) are arriving today for a short we are off to Valencia Airport to collect them.

They are staying in one of the campsite's chalets and as soon as they have settled in the both decide to have a swim in the pool, going by the expletives it was very cold !!
