... up! Happy Miercoles!

We go to this tapas place right behind the Torres de Serrano. The best Happy Miercoles venue thus far. It seems the sun has been setting earlier and earlier in the last 2.5 weeks. Boo! 3 ppl from our group were lighting up at all random points, finally all at once. My eyes were totally dried out and my contacts were irritating me. I couldn't stay anymore. Bro and I leave for me to return home and get my glasses.

... Tanzania and ended up charming all of us with his story telling skills. Valencia means fortified and it was once a city surrounded by walls and two main gates at either side. This is also the location of the El Cid siege made famous by the movie with Charlton Hestan although the film omitted to explain how the city was taken back from the Moors all of of the locals were massacred, which is what apparently happened, then again thats not very Hollywood even for the gun ...

... great time packed into one of the side streets. During the 24-hour trip to Valencia I was able to try a Valencian orange, drink some horchata, eat churros, eat famous Valencian paella, try Agua de Valencia, and experience the festival. Sunday 24th February. Today as usual we went down the Flamenco bar for another enjoyable lunchtime.



Then in the early evening we walked into town for the Exhibicio Tambors I Bombos.

This is a yearly parade of local drum bands that attracts over 800 drummers and is part of the build up to Easter. It's quite something to see and hear with all the bands in their different coloured costumes playing in time together. The short ...

February 1st. Fi & James ( Seonaid's daughter and boyfriend) are arriving today for a short visit.so we are off to Valencia Airport to collect them.

They are staying in one of the campsite's chalets and as soon as they have settled in the both decide to have a swim in the pool, going by the expletives it was very cold !!
