... but the train was full and only 1st class seats available which cost us €60 each - ouch! To add insult to injury our seats - 8a and 8b - we're actually in separate coaches, so we couldn't sit together until much later in the journey when the woman next to me got off the train. Final full day in Alicante region. A nice relaxed start to the day with a visit to Benidoleig municipal swimming pool, which was modern and had a sort of garden area with trees for shade. ... time via the road that kept us close to the beachfront, which took a bit longer but allowed us to take in the sights. It was pretty windy on the beach so we were all gently exfoliated by the fine, wind-blown sand in a pleasant way; the wind keeping us a bit cooler in the blazing heat. Nice slow start to the day. Freshly squeezed orange juice made from local oranges with fresh mango and pineapple, with croissant, jam and coffee. Heaven! Shortly after we headed to a local bodega to taste some wine. Then had a coffee in the pretty vine covered garden of a local restaurant. I do like Spanish coffee. Back to Casa Cronk to pack a picnic then off to their 'private' beach ...

... as we approached the pointy outcrop of land where the weather is supposed to kick in.

We were starting to think we might be let off any wild weather, as the wind stayed resolutely moderate for most of the way alongside Finisterre, but 2-Blue, who were ahead of us by a couple of miles, gave us a call to let us know it'd be kicking up - 25-30 knots of wind would be hitting us at any moment.

Oh well. We reefed heavily and waited ...
