... buddy had a light bulb moment as he is travelling via Google maps in the back seat with us. Where the Camino crosses or is near the main roads, there is always a marker much like our 'hikers crossing' signs at home. Aha! They are easy to spot. And at last one comes into view on that long dark windy road. Car pulls over, confuses the car behind who flashes lights, driver looks at us like we're crazy and out we get.

Now we are walking on the wrong side of ...

... of the day hits - I'm sure I've left my glasses on the bed in the Albergue. ***** ***** *****!

For my Camino friends on the blog if you come to do the VDLP make sure your Spanish is VERY fluent and you can also manage it at machine gun pace! My buddy and I have neither. Google translate has pulled us out of many holes and today was a darling! So make sure you have a functional data card on a device. Relayed to the guy behind the bar, he duly calls the cafe ...

... trip though I think my walk buddy is waiting for his giggle at me as I somehow manage to get my toes caught and face plant it on the grid!

After two hours of walking I note a large hill in front - I bags a wet gear off/pee stop - sky is clear and the sun is shining and the Gortex is hot! Buddy agrees and then we see two locals (had seen car in odd place earlier) foraging for something in the woods. Oh well my butt was exposed! Get over it!

... we had headed south for the sun - the forecast for Burgos was for snow - 3c !! On reaching Burgos the weather was wet and sleety. Señor y la señora parked up - hot footed it to the renowned Cathedral and burial place of El Cid and made a note to return in warmer times.

I am used to the procedure when we park up near a large city - Señora gives me half an apple, a bowl of water and announces "We're off shopping - won't be long"!!! She thinks I'm daft - I ...
