Arrived in La Paz thinking I had recovered from the bad vomitting. Then... I got the *****!! SIGH!!!! This country hates me. First my throat hurts, now my ass. Glad to report that I am now feeling better, thanks to a great diet of Gatorade, yoghurt, chocolate and coke!

Due to my misbehaving stomach, we cannot eat at local food places, much less sample any street food (no exotics, unlike starfish in China). On the bright side, we get to eat at all the places listed "TOP END" in the LonelyPlanet because 1) i need to make sure the food is clean - or supposed to be clean; and 2) Top End = US$4 per main course. I spent 1 May venturing around La Paz trying to find the airline office (Amaszonas) to get our refund, and only managed to succeed on May 2, because it was Labour Day, everything was closed, and there were massive rallies everywhere. Rob's halfway there, so we're gonna try and wing it and make it to Copacabana before our highly-coveted reservations with Hostal La Cupula are cancelled.

We arrived in Trinidad after a killer journey from Santa Cruz. From Samaipata, we caught a taxi to Santa Cruz and from there we caught the last bus and managed to buy the last tickets on the bus. Arrived in La Paz on Monday afternoon. In Tiquina, Bolivia there is a ferry crossing. They made us exit the bus, get on a small boat (30 people or so), and reboard the bus on the other side. It only took about 30 minutes total but we watched a guy try to run after his bus. I still canīt figure out how he missed it!
