This Hostal is pretty nice. It´s quite a steep hike to get there or down to the city - about 125 steps. The rooms were clean and they had a space heater there for us (which really came in handy). The walls were a little thin. We could hear people very clearly even though they weren´t being loud. Altogether a nice, cheery stay.

great kitchen, great breakfast, lovely living room, great chests at the ends of the beds...all in all pretty good...even when dealing with a little problem we encountered...wished we could have stayed a bit longer

Break from city life.
So we've finally moved out of our apartment, packed our bags onto our backs and have begun the traveling life once again. We clambered onto the metro with Chileans glaring at us for taking up so much space and eventually arrived at the bus station …

The city was founded in its local because of the large harbor, but the hills jut out of the earth near the shore forcing the cities expansion to be mostly vertical. John and I got in late on Friday after an 8 hour bus ride (that was …
The Seaside!!
Since we decided to speed through San Pedro a week or so ago, we had gained a few extra days so we decided that a couple of the days on the beach before Christmas might be nice...so we left a beautifully warm Mendoza in Argentina and crossed the border back in to Chile and headed through Santiago to Valparaiso. Itīs a hilly little town, well not …
