That obviously didn´t go over very well with me because 1. he was trying to speak on behalf of an entire country 2. he was trying to speak on behalf of me (and I happen to be doing quite well) and 3. he is making excuses. ... from a night out. We have had a fabulous time. First we walked around the old city square and learnt a lot about the history of the buildings and then we had some more sanguini that .lovely drink at a bull fight bar. As the title implies, being here in Madrid for only a few short days has taught me a number of lessons & allowed me to make some often bizarre observations. Primarily among them is the lack of wifi, pronounced "weefee" by the Spaniards and affectionately referred to (mostly by me) as "weef", ANYWHERE in the city, making it incredibly difficult to use our iPhones.. some would call this a first-world problem, but when you're standing on an unmarked street corner alone ...

The train we got to Madrid was the best we had been on so far - they played a movie (in Spanish unfortunately) and gave us headphones to listen to the radio with which was cool! And there was a LOT of legroom as well, very good for us! Brilliant last journey :) It only took us 3 hours to get there, shame the trains weren't this good for our 8 ...
