Back on base at Meredyth's and on Friday we go to Waco Zoo in Cameron Park. This is relatively small and child friendly. so much so that it was heaving with school trips in the morning. it was quite well done but rather small enclosures for the lions & tiger. Max had a great time.
Saturday morning and after a visit to the Sunday/Pre-school Yard Sale, where Meredyth gets 3 boxes of train track stuff for $20, we head to Temple station for the train back ...

... characters (Magic Time Machine), the majority of whom were a mystery to me - I believe we were served by someone 'Frozen'. They had a salad 'car' and all sorts of retro features and could fry almost anything. We babysat for Meredyth without major incident.

If you live in the south, you never get snow, you don't even expect it! When the rare time comes around that you ACTUALLY get snow, all hell breaks loose! We treated ourselves to breakfast delivery to the room at 9am, as we were all up late because of the time difference of 2 hours. After packing up, we walked across the street to walk over the Waco Suspension Bridge which, when it was built in 1870, was the longest suspension bridge west of the Mississippi.
