... thing, got out the additional radiator water bottle, burnt my fingers on the radiator cap and paced some more, Anne continued to play on her phone, which frankly was as good a use of time as anything. After twenty minutes the traffic subsided and the engine had cooled sufficiently to allow me to take the cap off and top it up with a litre of coolant.

... Caceres happened to be an UNESCO World Heritage Site, what a gem! Sunday was spent walking round the old town and sitting in the beautiful Plaza Mayor, just outside the city wall, in lovely 25 degree sunshine for coffee, looking up at the 14th Century Bishop’s Palace and the Palace de Mayoralgo with storks circling overhead and tending their rooftop nests.
