... it felt like sleet was pelting our ears. But the view and concept were worth it. Patrick and Barcy joined us for the camaraderie and for lunch.

At 3 pm, we had tango lessons. About two-thirds of our band of 37 showed up to see this couple who has won several competitions demonstrate the tango and then attempt to convey their knowledge, if not their skills, to our group of klutzes. It was amusing; and a good time was ...

... fuel was running low and the town we thought looked promising on the map turned out to be anything but. We stopped to ask a local where the next petrol station was, to which 57km was the answer. We had enough fuel for that distance but not a huge amount of confidence that we had understood exactly what he said or that in 57kms there would actually be a place with fuel or whether, like some places, they would be closed until the fuel lorry arrived, whenever that might ...

After we chatted, we had our starter; brie on a toasted, crusty white baguette with salad, along with more wine! It was delicious, but I didn't want to fill myself up too much before the dinner. While we were eating, I put some Christmas music on. I was feeling ...

    Day 2
A day of ups and downs. We climb back to the highest point on the trek for us. Ive set the gps tracker today to throw a few stats at ya. We hit our walking altitude record early, clocking in at 2064 metres. Then its a 450 metre steep descent into the next valley. Our 1st kilometre is knocked off in 53 minutes! We hit the valley floor and start a gradual uphill, passing the campsite we should have headed to yesterday. Its a nice spot and that information will ...
