      ... from the top. Although the chairlift looked like fun, to save some money, we decided to walk to the top. It's not a long way (apparently a 45 minute walk, though we did it in 25), but it was almost vertical all the way up.       ... completely desolate, we didn't pass so much as a gas station. We couldn't even stop for a picnic lunch as we planned because the winds were so high they thought it may blow the bus over if it was parked too long. It was along this stretch that we passed an estancia that was once owned by Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.       ... great fun! In fact I tried to stay for an extra night but the hostel was booked out, so off to Mendoza it is! (The wine region of Argentina!) :) So I have parted ways with my new friends as they are heading south and are also at the end of there trip! They are moving to Melbourne after some more travel around New Zealand, so they may make a trip to Perth while they are in Oz! Next step Mendoza! I will keep you posted on how that goes!
