... however, the surrounding countryside is pretty - vineyards everywhere and distant snow covered mountains. We detoured to Desenzano on the banks of Lake Garda. Clearly a summer holiday town but a beautiful town situated on the shores of a huge lake. The water is crystal clear. Lunch at local trattoria consisting of local trout - scrumptious, a walk around town, purchase of veggies and fruit from local markets and off to the autostrada. ...

Sparkling Lights in Lugano

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. Single serving. I was crushed. Ordering stuff in Italy is hard. WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO MESS WITH THE POWER OF TRUE LASAGNA?! Let this be a lesson to all of us: If it's not broken, don't fix it. When we left the restaurant, we hopped on the Funicular railway back down to the ...

Day 290 11 hrs, 4.2 kms Day totals: 16 hrs, 10.3 kms Today I'm going to head back to Bergamo to hang out with Massimo one last time. But first I have city that is way overdue for a Park Bench session: Busto Arsizio. Let me give you a big of background: From 2004 to 2006 I took 10 trips all over the world visiting over 50 countries. This was sort of a "warm up" for the Global Parkbench Tour, trying out my travel legs and seeing how this project ...
