I was happy to have Egypt behind me. I was rarely comfortable there and physically I was weak. Visiting Sudan had swam in my thoughts for a long time and Id already experienced the warm kindness of its people and was in need of some mothering.
It sounds strange that the only country I wasn’t nervous to travel in alone was apparently war torn.
