Horizonte Santa Cruz de Tenerife

... two sided, it's not as easy as it sounds.
One of the most famous is the San Mathias Belen in Taco, just outside of Santa Cruz .
It's made on an open bit of land, which is dedicated to the Belen, which is a working miniature village, what ever a village has, you will find here in this 'Belen' - Church, Graveyard, Blacksmith, Baker, Butcher, Grocer, Manor House, lots of houses with the locals sat outside ...

... has been equipped to teach visitors about science. The center has a capacity of around forty people and is used to explain what an observatory is, how telescopes work and the importance of Astronomy for the human race.

Private individuals can visit the Observatory, but you need to check on opening hours arrange visit beforehand.

I was playing the course alone and noticed two Spanish boys about age 9 and 11 playing alone 3-4 holes in front of me. Behind them was an elderly American couple. I saw the husband yell at one of the boys because he felt they were taking too long to get the ball into the hole. It was clear the boys did not speak English which frustrated the American so he yelled louder because as we all know, if you don’t speak the language just yell louder ...

... it made it quite cool also made it quite dark, but it seemed to be the most popular place for people to sit and watch the world go by. We got back to the ship around 14:00 and went and had some lunch in the Belvedere Restaurant and then sat on the lido deck by the pool drinking Speckled Hen. Marvelous.

Omdat Arico zo'n groot en mooi klimgebied is en we daar nog verschillende routes gezien hebben die binnen onze mogelijkheden liggen, besluiten we er nog maar eens een dagje naartoe te trekken.

Effe stevig beginnen met een uitdagende overhang, daarna ne 6a met ne variant 6b (die te moeilijk bleek). Nog een paar 5-kes en opnieuw ne 6a. Dit toen de armen helemaal op waren! Ne kanshebber voor ne ...

Gisteren hebben we bij Tenerife Outdoor een nieuwe topo gehaald van Tenerife. Moeten huren omdat er nog maar zeer weinig topo's beschikbaar zijn en deze moeten we dus op het einde van de week weer terug binnen brengen.

Vandaag klimmen in een soort canyon!

Eerste 6a voorgeklommen en 6b nageklommen door het touw te verhangen!

Dit blijkt een waar klimparadijs te zijn. Veel klimmers en veel routes van alle niveaus.

Het klimgebied van Arico ligt in een kloof, en deze kloof bestaat uit een hoger en lager gelegen gedeelte, aan beide zijden van de kloof kun je klimmen. Het gesteente is meestal oranje van kleur, de grepen zijn veelal gaatjes, afgezien van een enkele spleet, en zijn vaak behoorlijk goed zichtbaar ...

... It was still fairly early by the mainland's standard - that's something that is lacking in the Canaries. On the peninsula, an area like this would be hopping until the wee hours of the morning. The park itself was beautifully landscaped - it was more of a botanical garden, complete with stunning fountains and lovely sculptures.
