So we have a bus ride in the morning bought the lady from the appartments some chocolates and left her a note to say thanks as she has been amazing with us letting us stay for nothing. So everyone dont worry I am well enough to be typing this blog today and will put on pics for the past few weeks when the computer will let me.
Rovinj, Istria, Croatia traceybelleToday was hell, I am writing this a few days later so just to let you all know I am much better now and will post the pics so you can see the damage when I get to a computer that lets me. Rovinj, Istria, Croatia traceybelleAs we said its getting colder now so we decided not to do much today as we both wanted to relax anyway after the hectic few weeks that we have had in Turkey greece and italy. So we just went for a walk in the harbour and had a look around its another pretty little harbour town with some cafes but its still really different from Italy. We found a supermarket and as we wanted ...
Rovinj, Istria, Croatia traceybelle... follow suit and to catch up with me, just as we approached the busy beach.

After an afternoon at the beach, we returned to the yacht and sailed into the Harbor at Rovinj. We moored stern to at the mouth of the northern marina and took the short walk around the harbor to the old town out on an oval peninsula with a church on top. We found a place to eat dinner and then returned to the yacht for the night.
Rovinj, Istria, Croatia mylifesjourney... head phones on it was doing his head in. We had to go through passport control which was a border on the motorway and we got our passports checked first by the Slovenian Police then by the Croatian police as we had to go through Slovenia to get to Croatia. We are coming back to Slovenia but in a few days time. The police did not stamp my passport and I was really dissapointed I am sure because Croatia is not an EU country he ...
Rovinj, Istria, Croatia traceybelle... Some of the buildings are a bit ruined but I think it gives character to the town. I really like Pula, it's a place I never thought I'd travel and now that I'm here I feel I could live here for all my life.

At 7.30 p.m we go to the hotel, carry our backpacks and go to the bus station to buy tickets to Rovinj, another istrian town located in the north of Pula, just 45 minutes away (ticket: 4,80€).
Pula, Istria, Croatia chinaski... Mediterranean "beach" concept of rocks, not sand, and how painful it actually was. I lay down my paper thin sarong and looked around resentfully at all those beach-lovers who had come pre-prepared with lush, cushioned yoga mats. It was a nice first day at the beach with the perfect conditions for sun baking, reading and relaxing - just as long as you didn't move about too much. A patch of wet weather meant we were house bound where we ...
Pula, Croatia claude_and_iain... and coughing, Laughing and talking, with such saddened eyes. Morose from war and juntas, dictators and flags, So many flags. Adventurous men and bulbous Women still breathing, Proof of their resiliency. Oh town of Pula, sparkling On the southern tip of Istria. Your Roman walls And Yugoslavian infrastructure Are now just a home To where your elderly burrow into timeless nests And await to re-hatch Into something new.
Pula, Istria, Croatia tahazen... like Slobodan Milosevic, as he decided that taking a large 55-seater bus down country roads would be the best way. He even had time to pick up a drunken man who was staggering back in the pouring rain, and he was right - we made it just in time for the 7pm bus to Pula, where we met Mrs Nutcase. There she was at the bus stop (singing doo-wah diddy diddy dum diddy do). She was actually shuffling her feet though. She approached us with an Australian, Paul ...
Pula, Croatia dazbo1975... in the crowd! In the evening we decided to say "**** it" to the money (after 2 days!) and go to a really nice fish restaurant on the harbour (€30!). We didn't manage to get out of our abode until 10.30pm but went to the main centre and had some beers in the Square. Then decided to nail Vodka's and more beers to drinking games! A load of Swedish Bunnies walked in (that sounded ...
