Dont take your kids here , you will regret it !
No cocktails ,beer in tiny glasses, no tea spoons at breakfast, no coffee cups, warm soft drinks, no wine included on "all inclusive"!!!, repetitive, boring meals. No snack bar, no ice creams in the entire hotel!!! , The hotel has a nice private beach 2 minutes down the road but you have to pay for EVERYTHING there. Kids entertainment was terrible, at one point she was dancing in a circle with 5 or 6 young kids with a cigatette in her mouth!!! And the entertainment for adults was quite frankly non exsistent. However, we went on the fantastic "Lazy Days" boat trip (the snorkelling was awesome and it was the best meal we had all week!) The Hotel was clean ,the saving grace was the guy who cleaned the room (fantastic job) and the staff were friendly on the whole if a little lecherous at times. We loved Egypt but would not go to this hotel again.

If your looking a 4 star resort for your family? Do not book in the horizon sharm. We rename it as horizon sham, from the food, rooms and the staff you will disappointed. Kids get the worst deal from this resort and you need money for the chips, ice-cream to even playing on the pool table, mine you we paid for all exclusive. Hotel is a total sham. Jan 07.
Welcome to Hell
I have just returned from this hotel after seven nights of horror. I would however in the first instance like to point out the positives. The young man who cleaned our room was very polite and cleaned our room to a very high standard on a daily basis, the poolside staff were also pleasant and attentive and the shopkeepers although inviting you into their shops were not overbearing. But be warned from here on in the service goes downhill rapidly. The food was awful, there was a constant shortage of glasses in the evening and all inclusive was not as it would suggest. Among the many things we had to pay for was water, wine, icecream and any activities such as pool, darts etc. There was no snacks available during the day and the poolside bar only served warm beer and juice, if you wanted a whisky, vodka etc then you had to go back into the main bar in the hotel, mixers were just left on the bar counter with the tops off and more often than not that was also flat and warm. I like many other guests after a few days succumbed to some sort of stomach bug that was very painful to say the least I think infact the busiest shop in this hotel was the pharmacy were all you had to do was enter the shop point to your stomach and he immediately knew what was wrong with you. I was very ill and unhappy in this hotel and my only consolation is that we met many people at the airport who had stayed at a variety of hotels and had a wonderful time. This trip has certainly not put me of a reurn visit maybe in about five years time but I would certainly never never ever stay at this resort.

sorry to say folks but if you have booked a holiday here on an all inclussive be prepaired to be let down as i would class this as a full board if at night you can get a 1/2 pint glass for your beer hold on to it and maybe you might get it filled at one point if not you can always use a brandy glass or a wine glass if you like tea or coffee in the morning good luck in getting a cup but that not to say you will get tea or coffee as that might have run out as well hope you like to see dirty rams in the dinning hall as that is about all the entertainment thatyou might get (sorry they now do a disco in the bar area and you now get tea and cake at five in the afternoon after along fight for this so enjoy that but be early for a cup)

Our worst holiday ever
We have just returned from 2 weeks holiday at this hotel, and never ever again, eveything about this hotel is terrible from having to queue for a cup for a drink in the morning to the so called entertainment at night.. This was nothing like the website there was an old 2 slice domestic toaster that the staff had jammed a knife in to make it work the food was not labelled so you took pot luck in what you where eating and glasses you had to keep hold of if you wanted a beer in the evening, I am diabetic and had to pay for Diet Cola for the 1st 2 days as the hotel said this was not included in the all inclusive, after a meeting with the General Manager on the 27/12 things slightly improved but soon went back downhill. This holiday has left us with a bad overview of Sharm El Sheik and we dont think that it is a place we will ever go back to
Loved The Holiday
wel ... we stayed here for 1 week and at the beginnin of the week ther wer a few problems, but as the week went by the problems were then getting solved, i enjoyed every minute of my holiday, me my mum and dad met some very nice people including staff at the hotel and other tourists. How does this happen in 2006/07?
For any one planning to visit the Horizon Sharm over the next few weeks, months or year you have my heart felt sympathy... I have just returned from a holiday that can not be described appropriately due the regulations governing this website. Suffice to say that had this hotel been correctly managed it would indeed be closed!
Be warned the hotels website is very misleading; All Inclusive in the Hotel Sharm has a different meaning to any where else in the world... You literally have to pay for everything - even pool. There is no entertainment, no tennis, play area for children or snacks through out the day. The list is endless. The smoking room has been mistakenly named the Gym and uses decorative 1960's style equipment as ashtray features to add to the effect. A member of staff attempted to persuade me the sauna and Jacuzzi were safe, but could not confirm the last date of either being cleaned.
I think it a huge insult to foreign travellers to insist that this hotel is suitably classed as a four star.. The hotel could be described as dowdy at best, much of this owing to its very dated furnishings and lack of atmosphere. A group of four, we spent 4 days in the Horizon being eaten by flies and contemplating our next move; a - whether to fly home or b - whether to book into another hotel, in the hope that things would improve if only slightly for the remainder of our holiday. Without any help from the local or London agent we managed to find rooms at another hotel, which of course we paid for. We enjoyed the remaining 3 days of our holiday, but no thanks to those we arranged the holiday through, which for legal reasons I am unable to mention at this point.
Thank god I was there with friends who kept me sane....
We stayed in Horizon for a week. The hotell is quite terrible. It is big and dark. The rooms look really worn-out. Breakfast means lots and lots of buns in variations that taste the same. Only drinks avaliable are coffee/tea and some kind of lemonade (half water, half syrup). Someone said quite good, that the only thing edible is fried eggs. The hotell is situated aprox 17km from Naama Bay centre and that makes moving around quite discomfortable. Every 15min or so the hotell buss goes to beach and back (free of charge) but the only time the bus goes to Naama is in the evening, at 8 o'clock and noone remembers to mention the need for booking beforehand. The bus is aprox 20seats.. So it is always full.
There are wind-shades in the beach and a long jetty that ends on wonderful coral reef- a lot of colours and a lot of fish. That was maybe the best part of the hotel. Also there is a bank and currency exchange mashine straight across the road from hotel that makes exchanging local money really easy.
Hotel pool isn't with warming, either the childrens' one.
Service at the hotell was bad. In european hotels it is usual to leave tip for the housekeeper when you leave - there you have to leave every morning, otherways they really do nothing to your room. Our boy even throw away our things.. I do not think it is up to him to decide what is rubbish for us.. And he "forgot" to replace toiletpaper and also took away our own roll left on the table..
There are 3 shops at the hotell.. same souvenirs and stuff as sold in Old Sharm etc.
No food or beverages are allowed in rooms- only the ones bought from hotel- but there is no place to buy for example a bottle of water.
The distance from center creates an illusion of nice quiet place- but it is not. As soon as you leave your room, you're on a construction site. A lot of building all around all day long. As soon as the sun raises, they start making noise.
Most of the guests got some stomack disease- I don't know if it was from the breakfast of the hotell or somewhere else, but I have heard the same from people who staied there before us.
For us, the hotel was a dissapointment.

In realtà la navetta, almeno per il periodo in cui c'ero io, girava dalle 9 alle 16:30 con pausa pranzo di almeno un paio d'ore. La spiaggia è ad almeno 1,5 km e se fai il percorso a piedi
vieni importunata da chiunque passi sulla strada (pesante!).
Camere spaziose e pulite, hotel piuttosto bello e raccolto ma cibo scarso in varietà e non molto buono. Una settimana a riso e verdure, nemmeno all'ospedale!!!
A marzo la Jacuzzi era senza acqua, il centro estetico chiuso e l'animazione assente. Alle nostre richieste ci è stato risposto "la prossima settimana sarà tutto a posto", peccato che noi abbiamo pagato anche per quei servizi non abbiamo avuto e il tour operator non ha accettato le nostre richieste di rimborso.
Al di fuori dell'albergo c'è poco o nulla e per trovare negozi e locali devi arrivare fino a Sharm vecchia (una mezz'ora in taxi)
La barriera corallina lì è ancora decente, ho visto parecchi pesci, un pò scomodo l'ingresso in acqua dal pontile ma il bagnino è molto gentile e per non rovinare la barriera il pontile è l'ideale.
Insomma io credo che il risparmio non valga la mancanza di servizi, forse conviene andare in qualche altro albergo!

Servizio navetta ogni 30 min. per la spiaggia dalle 8 alle 18. Gratis
Dalle 20 alle 24 servizio navetta per Naama Bay. Gratis.
Camere spaziose e pulite.
Cassaforte, gratis, alla reception.
Piscina e lettini Ok. Inoltre, servizio asciugamani in spiaggia gratis.
Jacuzzi piccola e spesso sporca.
Pasti di buon livello e giardini curati.
Shopping room di medio livello, dove i venditore, come ovunque succede a Sharm, infastidiscono i clienti.
ATTENZIONE, come in molti hotel di Sharm, si annaffaino i giardini con acqua puzzolente, ma, fortunatamente, in orari dove di solito non si staziona in hotel.
Complessivamente, un buon appoggio economico per Sharm.

Only a 4 1/2 hour flight, arrive earlier than normal so a couple of hours sunlight left.
