      ... over to the lodge for a bathroom break and some relaxation. Our room in Sunset Lodge was not quite ready, so we enjoyed sitting in the lodge and made use of the Wi-Fi. Once we checked in, we drove over to Sunset Lodge. We tried our key and it didn't work! Seriously? We had most of our luggage with us outside the door, so once again I stood guard while Tommy drove back to the lodge. My legs were tired so I decided to sit against the wall.       Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon

      Sat 16 Aug - picked up the hire car today and headed off to Zion national park after taking an hour trying find out how to find an entrance onto the freeway out of Vegas.! Arrived around lunchtime. It was 100 degrees F (37degrees C). We did a couple of shaded short walks.

      ... So clean and fresh. The kids were enthralled by the many chipmunks along the trail that seemed very tame, looking for food. Of course, every park brochure reminds visitors not to feed the animals, but clearly these adorable rodents had been feed. They would sit up and even appear to perform. They came very close, but we warned the kids not to touch them.
