... the result was never in doubt. While Jen rested we cleaned up the beer and red, while Pauline polished off the bubbles. We sent off emails and managed to secure a van to Colombo tomorrow at a substantially reduced rate than had been quoted by the hotel. We ate dinner in, on the veranda and the meal was very good, served by Gayan who always seemed to be on duty. Wayne had to check his budget and it was to be an early start so we called it an ...

Woke early to swap phones on the remaining working charger. Made a tea and moved to the deck to soak in the scenery. At 6.30 the sun was already up and hot on the skin. It has had a mixed history of owners from the Portuguese to the Dutch and English before being returned to the locals. Luckily at lot of the wall and buildings remain intact. Tired, only a short post today. Enjoy to photos, and more ...

... make sandwiches with leftover bread from breakfast, today the filling (recommended by Janaka) was margarine and sugar. Although it was fun there seemed to be no structure involved. Basically it is just playing games, drawing and writing on whiteboards. I found the children hard to engage, however it was a blessing having a teacher there as she could communicate with us in English. The second part of the afternoon was to ...
