Well, a very enjoyable last night in Santorini. had dinner at a lovely restaurant overlooking the sunset strip. Pity it wasn't the clearest of nights but still spectacular.
Dinner consisted of grilled pork with pureed red pepper and potatoes with cheese and Souvlaki Lamb with baked potato.
A 5.00 am start got us on to the flight to Athens then Rome.
After a sleep in we wandered into town to choose a suitable location for our anniversary dinner tonight (21 years!).
As usual we just had to take more photos ~ don't worry, after a few more tonight this will be all of Santorini.
Next, Italy where the forecast is 0 to 14 degrees. BRR BRR
... to return and spend another week here in July. On that visit we stayed at the Hotel Odysseus because our Hotel Anemousa was full. Hotel Odysseus was just as wonderful as Anemousa and we spent many great hours on our poolside patio overlooking the sea. During our second visit to Folegandros we pretty much repeated everything from our first visit. Folegandros is definitely our favorite spot so far in Greece.
... below the land/road level and we had to climb down a very, very steep slope in order to reach it.
I enjoyed the whole adventure so much but was a little disappointed when I saw so many people at the beach! Many of them had taken a boat to reach there, which is a much easier route. Nevertheless, we stayed on for a while to catch our breath before starting a more challenging ...
... r checking-in and settling down, we
walked to the main bus station, which is only a 3-minute walk from Hotel
Castro, to catch a bus to a beach called Angali.
This is a rather busy family beach due to its easy accessibility, situated on the west side of the narrowest middle part of the island. We prefer somewhere more natural and quiet. So, we started walking from Angali towards anotherbeach ...

But the food is actually pretty good. It is from Greece that I learnt about Zucchini, and we ate plenty of them!
I don't need to learn about beef, I can have them everywhere :p

... over Sikinos turned out to be a 45-minute photo shoot, and half way through, Alli had to delete pictures from our camera's memory chip because I used it all up taking approximately 200 pictures that morning. Alli, Jamie, and Bill decided to head to another beach after the sunrise, and I went back to take a nap. I quickly fell asleep and found myself if the midst of a nightmare. Alli and I were sitting at a computer. We had run out of money and were looking for flights to come home.
Folegandros, Greece the_stamms... this side of the Rio Grande. We made it down to the hotel without incident and went to bed, dreams of beautiful beaches dancing in our heads. The next day we took the bus to probably the most traditionally beautiful beaches either of us has ever seen - a beach called Mylopotas. The beach was crescent shaped, and amazing umbrellas and recliners filled the beach with tavernas and beach side bars dotting the landscape behind the beach. The water was fantastically blue and clear ...
