... we get the sense that he is very envious of the privileged life we live in Western countries. After a nice drive, we arrive at the river and board our boat. I'll just say our cruise thru the Delta is relaxing. There are over 200 species of birds to see here but, as you may well know, those little critters can be pretty evasive sometimes. We do see a couple of white swans from a distance and a few birds in the trees, but it's not exactly what ...

We travelled as far north as Soroca where we found a medieval castle that is being restored by a Romanian company (as if they don’t have enough things that need doing there). After the war, Romania along with the other Easter European countries we are going to ...

... Antarctic, Andean, and South American habitats. We learned a lot about the formation of the delta. The second half of the building houses the aquarium. Most of the tanks have fish from the Danube or delta. Most interesting, we learned that Danube river eels migrate from the river, across the Black Sea, through the Bosporus and Dardenelles, into the Atlantic to the Sargasso Sea. Once they leave fresh water, they never eat again. They spawn in the Sargasso ...

... On the other side of the road there was a huge lake with a resort sporting a swimming pool and more bars.  The lake itself left a lot to be desired - full of rubbish, weeds and generally green and slimy in appearance. Once back at the ship we took advantage of the poolside service and partook in a few margaritas (well not Coraleen of course) and snacks delivered right to our lounger!  We could get used to this ...
