The website details all the future plans for expansion—they envision a Tower of Babel, a walled city, and a first century middle eastern village, among other things—and they assert that the whole complex will be historically accurate. Left Memphis this morning in the glorious sunshine although a little on the chilly side (47F). Not much to say on this day except that we basically drove clear across Arkansas. We planned to stop in a Flying J in Texarkana so just short of the city we pulled in, gassed up, got ourselves fed up and are heading out to the trailer to spend the night.

If all goes well we will be in Tye, Texas tomorrow, ...

As it happened, we did not attend the last day of the conference due to unforeseen circumstances. We spent a fairly quiet day; we did tour Little Rock a bit more. We found the Little Rock Central High School site (still a working high school). Crater of Diamonds was really nice. There were a couple of families staying by us that were so friendly – they had kids on spring break (including two boys about Dean’s age!) and invited us to hang out. ... When the show started back up again, he said goodbye and went back in. About a half hour later, he came back out again with his grandchildren, saying they were getting tired and would probably leave but that they had a marvelous time. He gave me a hug and said he couldn’t wait to see us again next year. Made me smile…
