    ... because, much to my surprise the guy at the Alitalia check in desk told me I had to prove my onward travel from Brazil before I'd even got on the plane. On reflection this makes mores sense than refusing people entry once they get to Brazil and then deporting them but thankfully I whipped out an email showing the plane ticket to Santa Cruz in Bolivia that I'd bought the previous day. Sorted.

    ... were ready to go but they proceeded to have their weetos before being able to do anything else!!! Sat on the sofa at 5am staring forwards, monching their sugar. Lovely. I was a little stressed at this point but tried to stay calm....we put our bags in the car and then I sat in the car, mainly to avoid arguing with Ben about how late we were going to be!!! We managed to leave at 5.15 ish and lo ...

    ... some pretty uncomfortable looking seats. We notice that 2 sets of seats have been put to face each other so we decide to sit there with our feet up! About half an hour later the BA lady returns with some sandwiches and water that she has acquired from the BA Lounge! We then wait for another 4 -5 hours and eventually the SriLankan staff arrive and take us through security and we check in for our flight!

    The feeling of nervousness is overwhelming. Mixed with every other feeling I've been experiencing, the cocktail of emotions churning in my belly is starting to make me feel nauseous. I've been planning this trip for just under a year yet I still feel taken aback, unorganised and longing for more time to prepare. This feeling was confounded when on our way to the airport we had to stop off at the local doctors surgery so I could get my last dose of Hep B vaccinations! A quick turnaround ...

    ... and versatile navy blazer. The prices were rock bottom and much cheaper that Oz - the exchange rate is in our favour too.

    We walked through Leicester Square - rather grotty - and onto the tube for home.

    We had a glass of champagne - Bollinger and thought about tea. We only thought about it really but then decided to indulge once more with salad and left overs from our tapas the night before.
