Hi Appa, Today we spent the day at the palace of Versailles (pronounced ver-sy). It was built by the king Louis the 15th and continued during the reign of Louis the 16th. The place is GIGANTIC! The palace has 2,300 rooms (while Buckingham Palace only had 725)! And it's garden is 900 hectares! ( about 2200 acres!) Thanks for reading! I miss you! From your loving Son, ...

... pie - the others had starters and mains and then both Jo and Pete had treacle tart. I was very good and only had a taste for old time sake. My last memory of treacle tart was school dinners when I was teaching. I must say my memory was of better tarts than these. Bit stodgy and very sweet.

We finished about 4pm - Colin had come down earlier with the car in case we wanted to drive back but we all opted to walk home. Of course we had to pay more money ...
